Rev. Brenda Barnes loves Jesus Christ. Her pastorates include a time as a student pastor in Pittsburgh and Kiskiminetas Presbyteries. After her ordination in Kiski Presby, Rev. Barnes served as a Temporary Supply Pastor until she was called to serve as a Transitional Minister and a Congregation Coach for several churches in four (4) Presbyteries. Brenda’s educational background has included receiving her Master of Divinity, and her Doctorate of Ministry in the Reformed Focus, from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Rev. Barnes enjoys quilting, vintage movies and spending time with her family. She is married to Don (for 30+ years), and they live in Churchill. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it!” Relying on the full assurance of Jesus Christ, she strives to live a life worthy of the call to ordained ministry. It was Christ who called her; and Christ will fulfill His Kingdom! Amen!
Patty Hart is the organist and the director of the bell choir at New Hope Church. Patty lives with her husband Glenn who faithfully pastors two other small churches. Patty is also heavily involved in Redstone Presbytery’s “mission team”. Traveling to different parts of our country Patty and the others team members scrub, clean, build, and fix up homes that have been damaged by hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters. During the week Patty is employed as a Manager Administrator at a health care firm in Greensburg.
John Cherepko is our church treasurer. He and his wife Lynne are the parents of three grown children and have some grandchildren. John faithfully over sees the finance of New Hope Church. He makes sure that bills are paid promptly and that the resources of the church are used wisely. John is also the chairman of the finance committee of the church. In his spare time John enjoys getting together with friends in a local bowling league.
Jim St. Clair is one of the busiest men at New Hope Church. Not only is he busy keeping the church sparkling clean, he is also the chairman of the building committee. In that position he heads up a committee that sees to it that the necessary repairs and maintenance at the church are taken care of. Most recently Jim and his committee had the sanctuary and entire second floor of the church painted as well as doing some extensive work to the church landscaping. Jim and his wife Eleanor have been members of New Hope Church for several years.
Tracy Winzek is the secretary at New Hope Church. Tracy knows New Hope Church well and will give you a warm greeting when you call or stop by New Hope Church.
Faith is New Hope’s director of music. As such she chooses, rehearses and directs the music of both the Chancel and the Joy Choirs. Faith is a retired nurse and lives with her husband Howard. Together, Faith and Howard are huge Penn State fans! (But at New Hope Church we welcome fans of all universities.) Faith also often uses her talents to play the piano along with the organ on many of the hymns.
